 The Brownsville Project is a live performance featuring the lived experiences of Clory Jackson and Caroline Hann, both of Frostburg, MD, as they discover the untold history of Brownsville. A community of freed African-Americans established in 1866 on the land where Frostburg State University now stands. The performance is sponsored by the Allegany County NAACP, Choose Civility of Allegany County and the Womenís Action Coalition. The performance will take place at Metropolitan AME Church located at 309 Frederick Street, Cumberland, MD 21502. The event is free and open to the public. Please join us in celebrating Black History Month as we actively remember Alleganyís County rich African-American history.
